About Hees & Associates, Inc.

Welcome to Hees & Associates, Inc., a Sarasota, Florida based structural engineering firm with structural design experience locally and across the United States. We opened our doors in June 2006, and we are proud that the prior relationships developed with local developers, architects, local governments, and local school boards allowed us to start working from day one. We have since grown into a six-employee strong company.

We believe that engineering service should be prompt and the engineer accessible, which is why our company philosophy, “To provide responsive, open minded structural engineering support to each valued customer as if they were our only client”, is so important to us.


We have structural experience with peer reviews, structural analysis, design, construction administration and threshold inspection services for structures constructed of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, and aluminum. This includes a wide range of structures to include schools, university facilities, park facilities, medical facilities, office buildings, renovations, sports facilities, performance halls, banks, multi-unit transit facilities, housing, industrial facilities, telecommunication switch sites, custom residential structures, restaurants, assisted living facilities, and car dealerships.

We have been working with BIM technology since early 2012, but still maintain proficiency in AutoCAD for the client that prefers working with that platform.


The firm is licensed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
